How to Organize Your Notebooks For College Courses

in the organization can go a long way towards helping you succeed in college. The organization does not come naturally to all of us, but fortunately it can be learned. Taking good notes in class and keeping them organized is very important and will help you make good grades.

You should get a different color notebook for each of your classes. Color coding is a mental shortcut. When you look at their notebooks before going to class, you do not even read the labels. Just look for the right color. It is quicker to think "Red English equivalent to 101" and not take the time to look through their notebooks to find your English notebook.

Also, be sure to write your name, address (and dorm room number) and phone number in each notebook in case you lose.

be sure your laptop has at least five color separator. Again, color is a mental shortcut for you. Also, make sure you supply the three-hole punched page protectors. Page protectors are clear plastic pages with three holes punched in them that can often slip out of your documents in. For example, your curriculum should go to the page protector. You can also buy a one page three hole punch to punch holes in the brochures that are not pre-drilled holes, or simply put them into a site and patron.

Here is how you should divide your different colored card section:

Part One (Red Tab or red cards divider) - Put the syllabus and all class handouts in this section. Use page protectors to keep it in good condition to read. Keep them in time (date) order.

Part (Tab Green or green divider cards) -. Ask your class notes in this section in chronological (date) as

Part Three (yellow tab or yellow divider tabs) -. Classwork doing or are willing to turn to go in this part of the

Fourth Section (Blue Tab or blue card divider) - graded tests and graded assignments

Part V (orange or orange-colored divider tabs) -. An additional paper for notes,

were also drilled holes Zipper pouch to hold extra pens, pencils and amplification (round sticky things to repair torn punch holes in paper). If you use a laptop to class, give each class its own folder and have separate files within a folder for each day in the notes.
