This processor is one of the youngest of Intel. It was only recently launched in January 2010 as the first level, a new family of processors Core 2 brands succeed. This is the Nehalem micro-architecture based processors, with two others that Core i7 and Core i5.
Intel Core i3 is a 32nm dual-core processor that allows multitasking. Every independent core is capable of completing two tasks at the same time, running on the core at 2.93 GHz and 3.06 GHz. Simultaneous run of multiple applications is made possible by Intel's Hyper-Threading technology. It has four processing threads, the two lines for each physical core, which ensure quick and efficient turnover of command signals to the nucleus.
Visual delivery is made great with the Intel Graphics HD video engine that provides high-quality graphics and smooth, high-definition videos with crisp data, clear color and sound audio output.
Other specifications and features of i3 are as follows:
* 4 MB Intel Smart Cache
* Double-channel DDR3 1333 MHz memory each
* Clock speed of 2.13 GHz
* graphics core frequency of 788 MHz
* The maximum size of 8 GB of memory
* Maximum memory bandwidth of 17.1 GB per second
* Intel Express Chipset Series 5
* Includes an integrated memory controller, so that high bandwidth memory
* Includes Intel Virtualization technology, which limits the downtime and maintaining worker productivity
* Includes Thermal solution designed by Intel, which controls the fan speed technology that keeps the heat level in the boxed processor, keeping the CPU unit to cooler temperatures. At the same time, it also reduces acoustic noise for quieter work PC.
The processor core also goes by the codename "Clarkdale" for desktop computers, and "Arrandale" for laptops. This processor is ideal for home and office desktop computers.
